The ingredients needed to make Agedashi tofu:
- Get Fried tofu
- Get 200 g Momen tofu(firm tofu), cut into 1 inch cubes
- Get 4 tbsp potato flour or corn flour
- Make ready 1-2 cups Vegetable oil for deep-frying
- Take Sauce
- Get 1/2 cup Dashi
- Make ready 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- Prepare 1 tbsp Mirin
- Take Topping
- Take 1 Green onion, finely chopped
- Get 1 tbsp Katsuobushi(Bonito flakes)
Instructions to make Agedashi tofu:
- Prepare all the ingredients.
- Remove excess water from tofu by using paper towel.
- Bring out a pot or a large saucepan. Heat vegetable oil with medium heat.
- After drying the tofu, dip it into corn starch and remove excessive flour. Add to the hot oil. Deep-fry for 5 min or until they turn golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack.
- For the sauce: mix all the sauce ingredients. Add the mixture to a pot. Bring it to boil. Transfer to a bowl.
- To serve, place fried tofu on a small plate or bowl. Gently add the sauce. Lastly sprinkle bonito flakes and chopped green onion. Ready to serve.
