Hey everyone, it is Brad, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a distinctive dish, spicy and sweet homemade tofu. One of my favorites. This time, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious.

The ingredients needed to make Spicy and Sweet Homemade Tofu:
  1. Prepare 3/4 cup dry soyabean (150 gm)
  2. Prepare as required Enough water for soaking soyabean
  3. Prepare As needed Enough water for grinding soya beans
  4. Take 3-4 cup water while boiling soya milk
  5. Make ready 2-3 tsp lemon juice or 1 full lemon juice
  6. Make ready For making Spicy and Sweet Tofu:-
  7. Get 150 gm - 200 gm Tofu
  8. Prepare 2 Tbsp Corn flour
  9. Get 2 Onion differently cut(1- medium size pieces and other- large size pieces)
  10. Get 1 Medium Capsicum(cut in square or triangle medium size pieces)
  11. Prepare 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  12. Prepare 1 tsp Soy sauce
  13. Get 1 tsp tomato ketchup or sauce
  14. Make ready 1 tsp red chilli sauce
  15. Get 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  16. Make ready 1 tsp white vinegar
  17. Get 1 tsp Honey
  18. Take 1/4 tsp black pepper powder for coating Tofu
  19. Prepare 2-3 Tbsp Oil
  20. Prepare as required Toasted Sesame seeds for garnishing
  21. Take as per taste Salt
Steps to make Spicy and Sweet Homemade Tofu:
  1. For making Tofu:- Soak the dry beans overnight. Drain and remove water. In Mixer jar add enough water to the beans and grind into a smooth paste. I grinds soya beans in 3 batches and each time added 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of water.
  2. Place the muslin cloth on a strainer and remove smooth paste on the cloth. Squeeze the cloth tightly with both hands and remove the soy milk. Remove and keep aside the dry soy pulp. You can make Soya Chaap using this pulp so until then keep it in refrigerator.
  3. Transfer the soy milk to a large Wok and add 3 to 4 cup of water in it. Boil soya milk over low-medium heat for 15 mins, stirring continuously. If there is frost at a top while boiling, then remove it. After 15 mins add lemon juice and switch off the gas. Cover with lid and keep aside for 5 mins.
  4. When the milk starts to curdle, then pour it on muslin cloth. Squeeze water. Pour cold water 2 times to avoid a lemon smell. Strain and remove water both time.
  5. Shape Tofu into a square and place it inside cloth on the plate. Put another plate on it. Place a heavy object on the top plate by pressing down slightly. The object should not be heavy enough to crush the tofu completely but enough to squeeze the liquid for about 10 mins. Then remove this tofu on another plate and refrigerate for 30 minute to firm up.
  6. After removing the tofu from the freezer, place it in a clean cloth and press lightly to remove excess water from the tofu. Remove the cloth. Cut it into squares.
  7. For Spicy and Sweet Tofu:- In a bowl, add corn flour, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Add the tofu pieces to this mixture and make sure all the tofu pieces are well coated.
  8. Now heat 1 to 2 Tbsp oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu. Shallow fry until brown and crispy on all sides. Remove on absorbent paper and set aside
  9. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a pan, add medium-cut onion and sautē. Then add ginger-garlic paste and sautē until onion is translucent. Now add large-cut Onion pieces. Add Capsicum. Keep the lid on pan. Cook on low heat for 6 to 8 mins or until capsicum become soft.
  10. Remove the lid. Add 1/4 tsp black pepper, soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, 1/4 tsp salt, white vinegar and mix well. Add Crispy Tofu and honey. Mix well.
  11. Keep gas on high flame and cook for 2 to 3 mins. Turn off the gas.
  12. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Serve Spicy and Sweet Tofu hot.
  13. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
